Dr. Leon Hansmeier is an Ogallala, Nebraska native and attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Dr. Hansmeier earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri graduating atop his class with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. In addition, Dr. Hansmeier received the institution’s Dean’s List Award for outstanding academic achievement throughout his studies. While at Logan, Dr. Hansmeier accepted elite internships working side by side with other medical providers at the Department of Veterans Affairs – Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center where he was able to experience the physical and emotional wounds of war. He was also selected as an intern in the Biofreeze Sports & Rehabilitation Clinic where he worked exclusively with local athletic programs and traveled to the University of Missouri to treat NCAA division I athletes. Additionally, Dr. Hansmeier received a bachelor’s degree in Life Science from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri and carries certification in full body Active Release Techniques and Acupuncture.
At Spine & Sports, Dr. Hansmeier focuses on improving people’s lives by restoring function and performance of muscles, joints, the nervous system, and overall health. By locating the cause of the problem he is able to tailor to the individual needs of his patients providing fast, long lasting results using specific adjustments, Active Release Treatments for soft tissues, acupuncture, and rehabilitative exercises.
In his time out of the office, Dr. Hansmeier enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and two little girls. His hobbies include boating at Lake McConaughy, the outdoors, playing and watching sports, and being an avid Husker fan.
