Grab a bar or object secured to a wall or the floor try to turn your wrist in. If you feel pain and tingling on the inside of your elbow, you may be experiencing this condition.
This condition presents from overuse of the elbow and is not associated with a traumatic event. Medial Epicondylitis typically causes pain and numbness with increased activity relieved by rest, but can become constant as the condition worsens.
Tenderness will be felt on the inside of the elbow to touch or with activity. There will generally be pain when flexing (curling) your wrist and diminished grip strength may also be present.
Early on it is important to reduce inflammation after activities with ice. Lengthening and addressing tightening of the muscles and tendons around the elbow paired with specific stretching protocols assure that this doesn’t become a continual problem.
